Privacy Notice
Plain-language summary: Tuklass stores information needed to run student accounts and features. Authorized Tuklass administrators may access stored data for legitimate operational, support, moderation, safety, security, or legal purposes. Avoid putting highly sensitive information in Tuklass.
1. Information Tuklass may store
- Google account information used for sign-in, such as name, email address, Google account identifier, and Google profile picture.
- Tuklass username, profile details, custom profile picture, school, section, and class identifiers.
- Messages and message metadata, including sender, recipient, timestamps, read state, and supported attachments.
- Notes, uploaded study files or images, collections, calendars, events, reminders, schedules, and class-event data.
- Account status and service records needed to operate the platform.
2. Why this information is used
Information may be used to create and authenticate accounts, display profiles, route messages, provide school/section-specific schedules and reminders, store study materials and collections, operate calendar features, provide support, diagnose problems, prevent abuse, and secure the service.
3. Who can access information
Other users may see information that a Tuklass feature is designed to share with them, such as your username, profile information, profile picture, or messages you send to them. Authorized Tuklass administrators may be able to access stored account and content data through the Tuklass backend for legitimate service-operation, support, moderation, safety, security, or legal purposes.
4. Google services
Tuklass currently relies on Google services such as Google Sign-In and may use Google Apps Script, Sheets, and Drive for backend functions and storage. Those services are also governed by Google's applicable terms and privacy practices.
5. Messages are not a secret vault
Tuklass messaging should not be treated as end-to-end private. Do not send passwords, financial credentials, medical details, or other highly sensitive information through Tuklass.
6. Retention and deletion
Data may remain stored while an account or feature needs it and may persist in service records or backups for a period of time. A production privacy policy should define a specific retention and account-deletion process before a broader public launch.
7. Security
Tuklass should use reasonable technical and administrative safeguards, but no online service can guarantee absolute security. Users should protect their Google accounts and report suspicious activity.
8. Students and minors
Tuklass is designed as a student workspace. Privacy requirements for minors differ by country, region, age, and school context. If parent/guardian or school consent is legally required, Tuklass should obtain that consent before collecting or using the affected student's data.
9. Your choices
You can choose what optional content you add to your profile, messages, notes, uploads, collections, calendars, and reminders. Do not upload content you do not want stored in Tuklass or potentially accessible to authorized administrators for the purposes described above.
10. Changes
This notice may be updated as Tuklass changes. Material privacy changes should be communicated to users when reasonably practical.
11. Draft status
This Privacy Notice is a product-policy draft, not legal advice. Before Tuklass is broadly launched or used institutionally, the operator should obtain appropriate legal and school-policy review, particularly because the service is intended for students and may process messages and profile information.
